COMTO Colorado will award up to five (5) scholarships for the 2007-2008 school year to minority and women students who express an interest in pursuing college studies in a transportation-related field. Each scholarship award is offered for tuition, books, and/or room and board expenses.

College studies supporting the transportation industry may include (but not limited to) the following disciplines:
- Archaeology and/or Cultural Resources
- Architecture
- Civil, Chemical, Structural, Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering
- Computer Science
- Construction Engineering Technology
- Construction and/or Construction
Management
- Environmental Sciences and related Studies
- Geology and/or Geotechnical
Engineering
- Public Information and Outreach
Programs
- Security Systems
- Urban Planning
- Vehicle Design and Maintenance
Eligibility Requirements
Eligible applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be a graduating high school senior entering a regionally accredited college or university in the year the scholarship is applied for. Scholarships are awarded only to those who graduate from high school in the calendar year in which scholarships are presented.
- Currently enrolled, in good standing and maintaining at least a 2.5 grade point average through the 2007-2008 school year
- Complete the full COMTO Colorado
application process by the designated
deadline
- Enrolled in a public or charter high school in the Counties of Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Broomfield, Denver, Douglas and Jefferson Counties.
Scholarship Award Dates
Deadlines for applications for the 2007-2008 school year have yet to be determined.
Interview Dates
Selected applicants who meet the selection criteria may be requested to come to an interview. Interview dates will be
scheduled by the COMTO Scholarship Committee Selection Board.
Scholarships will be awarded at the
3rd Annual COMTO Scholarship Banquet scheduled for April 5, 2008.
